Onboarding
Onboarding is the set of steps that bring a new hire or assistant up to speed on your tools, people, expectations and processes.
Onboarding covers everything a new person needs in their first weeks. That includes account access, introductions, goals, communication habits and training on your tools. A good plan gives the person a clear first task and a clear way to ask questions.
Strong onboarding saves money. Most failed hires and failed VA relationships trace back to unclear expectations in the first month. Writing down your standard operating procedures makes the process faster and repeatable. Our guide to onboarding a virtual assistant gives a step-by-step plan.
At Peachtree VA, a dedicated Relationship Specialist oversees the partnership and facilitates onboarding. See our how we work page. When someone leaves, the reverse process is offboarding. A written first-week plan, with a few small wins early, helps a new person gain confidence fast.
