What do VA companies charge in October 2026?
As of October 2026, published U.S. plans run from about $36 to $39 an hour at Time Etc and $65 an hour at Boldly. Athena lists $3,000 a month for a full-time assistant. BELAY gives a typical range instead of a price list. Wing lists offshore part-time help at $699 a month for 80 hours.
We read each price on the company’s own page on October 29, 2026. Companies change plans without notice, so check the linked page before you decide. We worked out the hourly figures ourselves by dividing the monthly price by the hours.
| Company | Published price | Hours | Cost per hour | Model |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Time Etc | $390 to $2,160 a month | 10 to 60 | $36 to $39 | Dedicated U.S. assistant, hours roll over on larger plans |

How do the plans differ beyond the price?
The hourly number is only part of the cost. Minimum hours, contract length and rollover rules change what you pay in a real month. Two plans with the same rate can cost very different amounts if one has a 40-hour floor and you only need 20 hours.
Here is what each published page says:
- Time Etc lists plans from 10 to 60 hours. It states that unused hours roll over to the next month.
- Boldly requires a minimum of 40 hours a month per assistant. It bills tasks outside executive assistance at $79 an hour. It states that its U.S. staff are employees.
- Athena sells one full-time assistant. Its page notes the plan is monthly after an initial 90-day commitment.
- BELAY does not list plan prices. Its FAQ gives the typical range shown above.
- Wing lists offshore part-time help at $699 a month for 80 hours, about $8.74 an hour. See our U.S.-based vs offshore comparison for the trade-offs.
Why is the hourly rate so different between companies?
Rates differ because the companies sell different things. Some sell raw hours. Others sell a managed service with backup coverage, employee benefits and account managers. Where the assistant lives also matters, since local pay levels differ.
Ask what sits inside the price:
- Who employs the assistant? An employee model usually includes payroll tax and benefits in the price. A contractor model shifts those costs. Read our post on 1099 vs W-2 virtual assistants.
- What happens when the assistant is out? Some plans include a trained backup.
- What are the setup, minimum and exit terms?
- How are hours counted? Billing by the second differs from rounding up to a quarter hour.
What is the real cost if I use fewer hours than I pay for?
If your plan does not roll over, every unused hour is wasted money. A 40-hour plan at $65 an hour costs $2,600 whether you use 40 hours or 25. Your effective rate for 25 used hours becomes $104 an hour.
Use this quick check. Divide the monthly price by the hours you really use. That is your effective hourly rate. Our hourly rate calculator does this for you.
For a small team, a smaller entry point matters. Peachtree VA packages start at 25 hours a month on a month-to-month agreement with 30 days notice. Hours do not roll over, so we suggest you keep a standing project in the background. Read what to do with unused hours.
What does Peachtree VA publish about pricing?
We publish how our packages work, not an hourly rate. Our virtual assistant packages start at 25 hours a month. They are month-to-month with 30 days notice. We share the price after a free discovery call, because it depends on the hours you need.
We are open about one trade-off. Our assistants are U.S.-based independent contractors, not employees. Some buyers prefer an employee model. Others prefer a lower entry point and flexible hours. Our full cost guide explains the cost drivers, and our company comparison puts the models side by side.
How should you compare quotes from different companies?
Put every quote on the same basis before you compare. Convert each plan to a monthly price, the hours included and the cost of an hour you actually use. Then add the terms: minimum hours, contract length, setup fees and backup coverage.
Use this four-step check:
- Write the monthly price and the hours it covers.
- Estimate the hours you will really use. Start with your own task list, not the plan size.
- Divide price by used hours. This is your real hourly cost.
- Add risk items. Ask who covers a sick day, what a replacement costs and how long the exit notice is.
Some prices are hard to compare for a plain reason: not every company publishes the same details. BELAY gives a typical range but no hours. Athena sells one full-time assistant, so there is no hourly figure to divide. Boldly and Time Etc publish hours and prices, which makes them easy to line up. When a number is missing, ask for it in writing and note the date.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a U.S. virtual assistant cost per month?
Published plans from U.S. companies range from $390 a month for 10 hours at Time Etc to $2,600 a month for 40 hours at Boldly. BELAY states that most U.S.-based virtual assistants cost between $1,200 and $3,000 per month. Prices are as of October 2026 and change often.
Why do some VA companies not publish prices?
Some companies price after a call because the hours, the skills and the type of work change the quote. That is a business choice, not a sign of a bad service. Ask for the monthly price, the hours included, the minimum term and any setup fee in writing.
Does Peachtree VA publish a price?
No. Peachtree VA packages start at 25 hours a month on a month-to-month agreement with 30 days notice. The price depends on the hours you need, and you get it on a free discovery call. We do not publish an hourly rate.
Is a cheaper hourly rate always the better deal?
No. Compare what you pay for the hours you actually use. Check minimums, whether unused hours roll over, setup fees, contract length and who handles hiring, tax and backup coverage. A low rate with idle hours can cost more than a higher rate you fully use.
