Delegation is giving another person responsibility for a task and its outcome, while you stay accountable for the result and keep checking in.

Delegation means handing a task to someone else with the authority to finish it. Good delegation states the goal, the deadline, the quality bar and the limits of the person's decisions. It is different from dumping work, because you still check in and give feedback.

Many owners resist delegating because explaining takes time. But hours spent now return many times over. Start with tasks that are routine, rule-based and low risk.
